PEDDLERS, CANVASSERS, SOLICITORS – “NO KNOCK” ORDINANCE

Effective February 29, 2012, the Township Committee amended Municipal Code Chapter 168, Peddlers, Canvassers and Solicitors (copy linked below) to include a “no knock” provision for residences and businesses within the Township. As a resident or business owner, you may now request, in writing to the Municipal Clerk (124 Cedar Drive), to have your address included on the “no knock” list barring uninvited solicitations or you may post a sign on your premises, “No Solicitors Invited”.

All solicitors must be licensed by the Municipal Clerk’s Office at Town Hall, and display their badge prominently when conducting door-to-door solicitations. In the event you are visited by an unlicensed solicitor, please call the Municipal Clerk at Town Hall (732-462-5470, x 100) during weekday business hours (8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.), or Police non-emergency (732-462-4343) available 24/7.

CONTROLLED BURN AT NWS EARLE

Controlled burns are being conducted at NWS Earle in forested areas adjacent to Route 34 in Colts Neck and Howell under the supervision of the NWS Earle Fire Department. The controlled burns will continue throughout February and March, since the risk of forest fires is very low during those months.
